Roe
Capelin roe and Herring roe
Roe refers to the eggs of fish, and it is considered a delicacy in many cultures around the world. We supply two types of roe, caught in the fresh, cold Atlantic and Arctic Ocean, to customers world wide: Capelin roe and herring roe.
Capelin roe, also known as masago, is the egg sac of the capelin fish.
Herring roe, also known as herring caviar or kazunoko, is the egg sac of the herring fish. Herring roe has a mild, slightly salty flavor, a firm, somewhat crunchy texture.
Roe is a good source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and other essential nutrients, including vitamin D and selenium.
